Randomly got really inspired to get down a basic timeline somewhere for all the things I keep in my head about Bane as far as what I've currently (and tentatively) figured out has happened to him. Course, I've tried to do this before, and always ended up failing, but I'm gonna be a lot more broad this time, just so I don't keep getting so damn caught up in the details haha. Things'll probably end up color coded. If they do, all I know right now is the red'll be Bane's history, and everything else, will be 'branches'. As such, I currently have his story sort of set up in real-time, so the dates are all based on the current date, and Bane's age. <u> Everything is subject to change, until properly 'revealed'... which so far, has barely happened cause I suck. Lol.

-
- Mistreatment of Uriel
- Could not be rid of him, for he was the 'heir of the sacred flame', and thus, godsent. But because his eyes were 'open to evil', the gods must've been very displeased. He has 'seen' the sin that was committed, and it turned their future leader into a demon as punishment to the community. He was seen as a plague sent to them that they must bear to prove themselves, and receive forgiveness from the gods - where afterwhich they thought, he'd either 'be reverted', or be 'spirited away'.
-
- Scolding of siblings and youngsters from elders for using the name 'Uriel'.
- General 'lack of faith' in Pyrakath for Torne
- Effected Lyrelle; she secretly cared for her child hesitantly, and would still call him by name, but hatred grew at how it effected her husband and family.- Older siblings understood a bit of the social dynamics, and were harsh to Uriel. Younger siblings were a bit more naive, and it was through them and Lyre that Uriel learned his own name. Vince and Fey would play with him sometimes in secret at night, but Uriel was always 'the bad guy' and was always forced to lose any games they played; or at least, no matter what his proficiency, he never 'won'.- The others in Pyrakath were losing 'morale'. They once had a tightly knit community, and slowly, speculation was raised in the gods, in the 'council leaders', and in their fate. They looked for someone to blame, and at first, this was Torne. Uriel was deemed 'the abomination', but the community was looking for what had gone wrong to 'cause' him.
-
- Various Cleansing rituals established.
- On Uriel's birthday, a mock 'sacrificial offering' ritual was established. Where the ceremony actually represents the 'plague' upon Pyrakath being lifted, the 'demon' becoming vanquished, and their goddess smiling upon them once more.
- Ironically, Bane never knew the true purpose of this ritual. He only knew it was a tribute to the goddess, Veriia, and still celebrates it on the 30th of October; though in reality, it was a 'festival' to celebrate the coming day of Bane's demise. (He was continuing this 'tradition' in firedancing post made near Halloween.)
- 'Sudden' Death of a Council Member
- Uriel became the 'one responsible' for everything going wrong in the community.
- Uriel found his love for fire.
- During various rituals held in Pyrakath, Uriel was often tossed into a large center fire to represent either a sacriface, or 'the evils plaguing the community being vanquished'. However, Uriel found when he was in the center of the flames to be almost soothing. To him, not only was it 'the energy of their goddess', but it almost seemed like it was keeping him safe from the outside world; he was in here, and they were out there. Because he had nothing else, he began to 'attach' himself to fire, at though it was a living thing and his only friend.
- Never once had he felt fire hurt him, unlike nearly everything else he was surrounded by, so it made him feel safe, and like he was 'in his own world'. His mind clung to this ideal, and he developed a sort of pyromania very early on. The result of this 'being in his own world' notion can be seen in Bane when he becomes unstable, and suddenly wants to light everything on fire. To him, he's almost 'leaving this world that's too much to bear for a safe, soothing place'.
- Fire had always been barred from use unless on specific occasions in Pyrakath. Uriel originally had no intentions of using fire on his own, but being cast off all the time, unless being punished, or being sent to work, he was generally by himself; and one time, it happened by accident when the flames did as Uriel was thinking. He panicked at first, however, thinking fire a 'friend', he couldn't help but try to call it again, and when he was successful, he began training himself in secret.
- Uriel meets Vera.
- At one point, Uriel had ventured far outside of what was considered the Pyrakath territory and into a 'forbidden' area. Nearing the rocky, mountainous part of the volcanic penninsula, Uriel saw someone who looked different from anyone else he'd ever seen before up on one of the rocks. It wasn't long before the girl noticed him staring, and started excitedly waving at him and came down closer. Uriel could do nothing more than gawk in awe. She introduced herself as Vera, and Uriel later learned that she was called a vulpix. Having been taught that 'outsiders' are all hideous monstrocities, and considering that Vera was so pretty, had some control of fire, and was nice to him, (nevermind her name being similar to their goddess, Veriia) he concluded that Vera was the goddess herself who came down to the world. Of course, she called him silly for ever thinking that, but from that point on, Uriel had made his first friend, whom he respected and cared for more than anyone.
- Vera's demeanor was extremely positive, fun loving, and mischivous. She was a bit older than Uriel, but the two quickly became best friends. Uriel had never experienced such kindness from anyone in his life, and Vera was always amused at how shocked and excited Uriel got when she did the simplest things for him, such as helping him up if he tripped. She was very adamant about her belief of 'being true to one's self' and especially the notion that one should never lie. She was somewhat dominating, and always pushing the timid Uriel to participate and try out new things, despite him being afraid of 'getting in trouble' or it 'being bad'. Despite her pushyness, however, she really did care about his feelings, so if it was ever too much, she'd apologize and give him a hug.
- Uriel would try to see Vera as often as he could every day after meeting her. Often times they would play games and 'make believe', go exploring, train with each other (Vera taught Uriel how to use fire better), tell each other stories, find food, and sometimes talk about their 'home life'. When Vera would push Uriel to try something new, he often whined and complained and resisted a lot, usually being afraid and uncertain.. but after he did it, he'd usually have a lot of fun. Sometimes he just didn't want to admit it. Vera on the other hand was very patient with him, and would barely ever let herself 'get down' over Uriel's complaining.
- Because of his time spent with Vera, and Uriel learning what kindness was, while slowly starting to believe that he was actually worthy of existing just as he was from Vera's encouragement... Uriel began to become more resistant to his 'punishments' back in Pyrakath, and the way he was treated. He started to get more self-confidence, and became more rebellious, even sometimes retaliating when struck; of course, this only made things worse for him, however, he was starting to find a will of his own.
- Along with a stronger will, eventually a sort of pent up hatred began to grow in Uriel for the others in Pyrakath who treated him so badly. There were times when Uriel would have these explosive fits of rage, where he'd start burning things and just acting out violently, like he was in a 'different world'. Only Vera could calm him by pinning him down and asking him 3 questions to 'bring him back to reality'; "Who are you, who am I, and what are the things you love in this world?" Forcing Uriel to concentrate and think about who he was and what he was doing would usually calm him down enough to where he stopped being so upset. When he was like this, however, he'd never hurt Vera once.
